Hints of lemon in the air blowing in from the docks on a day where you can hold your cup out and watch it fill slowly with seltzer - I lay out in the bubbles trying to relax, trying to forget. No coffee today - still somehow I’m overcaffeinated. Sun is pressing down on my stomach, burping loud. I can burp, there’s no one here to hear. I can roll over and make a face if I’d like, just a silly look, don’t need to judge me - lovely laying out on whatever day of the week this is - turn on the radio and coast notes float in - bubbling. I might never turn the radio off, not even after dark.

Don’t focus on the road past the map Easy travelers, honest departure Less than we need in our packs Ready bolts and talented archers No sign like we’ve ever seen No sign no sign Deciding when we switch the scene Decide decide Give it ten more minutes Let’s see where this track goes When we reach the summit house Still have a tall thrill to climb Keep going even with The pit of doom in mind All the winding paths I see, Rising up infinity Ocean swirling blue drink Leave behind the meaning You ascribe to the new Give it the flutter of a birds eye view Let’s see what we get up to

Pedaling hard my breath and vision combine Green vines hanging down comb my hair I just dismiss them always has been easy To imagine a blank space all around me WIND move my body STRESS kept me wound up TIME bleeding out I CONSIDER myself surrounded Driver is fast asleep behind the wheel In the back seat we drink the long dream We could pull over and let the cloud take hold of us Or keep going up into the matrix Of SOUND move our seats HANDS cross the wheel EYES softly steering us CONSIDER the unreal As it considers it considers us Back on the planet Two legs sitting stand up

I was born in pain When I pass away It will ring the same Smoke alarm battery Dated drifting dying A beep in the night The loss of a mind For now let’s sing about the center What’s just past the entrance Looking around the enormous room We exist for an instant in the hollow tree Baffled by the mystic qualities Of life baby life life life Pressed down by magnetic energy Hand over hand we climb Run your finger along the edges Metal splinters cut you like a vegetable Keep your items bundled together Hole in your clothes will let in the weather Dreamt I was driving Looking for gas When it finally caught my eye I Decided to pass no thank you Baffled by the mystic qualities Pressed down by magnetic energy Careful with your limited quantity Look out for the roaming zombie Take it away from you without trying On my block There is a chapel With an incredibly high Signal to noise ratio
6.
Sound of almost nothing - hand touching the back of my neck like a cool morning breeze - Right now it’s seventy three Though the forecast says look out Gonna be one oh three. Buckle up your sidecar seat, its goodbye easy street This is the sound of birds in the trees - gentle drift - migrationary, magnet sensors, those old ways are busted We must relearn flight, we'll saddle up and ride - all night Then crash on the floor wake up sleeping with perfect waves on the landing next to the sliding door. Open up there's the shore We will bask in the sun We will sway in the song Buckle down your belongings, we’re moving to hyper reality I thought I was on the moon (Who thought?)

Winnebago 02:56
Out over the misty mess Winnebago on the edge of the pass Time stops on the other side Phone goes straight to message Why don’t you join us in the future Guides help you cross over See the outline you are the author All it takes is time F (melody over this lyric) And willingness to steer left right Along the path passage unclear Crunch along like snack mix Teetering on the precipice Phone goes straight to message Sudden wind swept me away Glad to be gone Smile and face the change Strange attractors glide on My favorite music Is the dial tone Favorite film Is being home alone My favorite TV show Is Lost
9.
Muir 05:16
We had a grandpa die, another loved one flee our lives to move North And then there you were in the middle of the night Throwing a sleep hypnosis cassette at me And today I’m talking more, trying to lift the blanket from my head On heavy repeat is Betty Carter’s “nothing more to look forward to” Which I listen to as a farewell to therapy Next step is to leave the fort and I’m ready
10.
Alcatraz 01:55
It was hopeless We were trapped In walked the birdman to Alcatraz Had a gift Lifetime passion Turning cold words into action You saw us all Out on the island Tears streaming but smiling When the sharks walked Up on the land Switched up dinner plans Is the world against us Or is it just us
11.
Welcome to the halfway point between two mix tapes The idea was to break away from how I had been doing albums by not making every song having to be a song. It could be a warping of the song before or just a track full of information like this. I had some other ideas: Bring your pets or kids up on stage - even when they are 3,000 miles away Manipulations that require computer processing (not DSP or effects) People that aren’t alive anymore can come back to life Quiet voice just as loud as loudest amp Be in different rooms with their different sounds Can put other people on from other recordings An instrument can metamorphosize into another midway through a melody Animals won’t cooperate on stage (works the other way too)

Closing up the cliffs Sew together stones Natural formations Rocked down by the storm Sifting through the tide pools Look for my excuse Any small moment To sink into Dog chasing the ball Miles out into surf Body comes back more water Than fur Family of two Buried in the dunes Closing up the cliffs Our perfect path right through Promise if they close the cliffs I know another way around No warning can keep us out No warning

I was eating kale More than I could carry home safely Vanilla yogurt with blueberries Butter on thick rye toast Fifteen minutes after eggs I would run on the beach Second fastest legs After work I would bike So fast I would lift from the ground Once when upside down Work phone fell out of my pocket Paid a kind stranger $20 to hand it back

Starting over Early to breakfast Make and bless This kitchen with a mess Prayer over hot coffee With time it all cools down Watch what I eat Observe the plate empties You drift in To the scene with a groggy greeting What now what now Just know we start over Starting over Early to breakfast Calm conversation Kids still snoring destined for a silver castle Great spot floating in the sky We are laughing over toast You may prefer a lighter roast Sounds drift out And smells too beckoning down What now? Do not shout, I'm afraid the food has run out What now, I'm afraid
16.
Grievance to air grievance to air Your problem was me and you had to share Gather the troops rough em up Ask are we loaded enough Honking Cressida old car Steepest hill you ever saw Already the wicked wind of the west Pouring floating against us Stress is temporary But you live on A minor man Trapped in the song

Rising Shine 03:30
Here we are in the morning I found the time Rose before the rooster He'd been calling out my calling out my Name hello stranger did you sleep last night Nevermind doesn’t matter We found ourselves woke up and running Shine Don’t need a reason May not have a dime Up and moving with the big trucks Heading out what’s the use even I couldn’t stop them Even if I tried For now I’m the phoenix Racing along reborn and strumming Shine Hey there diamond You are one of a million A thousand thousand The rule to the exception

Last night you and me and two others On Halloween in my dream Went crashing through a cavernous storefront Four very fast thieves Everything we stole filled our sandwich bags Count it up in the end divided in half Then set off Back to the apartment Stopped the book mid-binding Listened back to my new tracks Felt I needed inspiration Couldn’t figure out how to go about it Gracefully so I left the fool Setting off Tracing the status bar All the way to 99 Where we go from here I wouldn’t mind finding out Setting off

What can I do with these tomatoes Sauce em crush and dice Dried leaves from my gardeners garden Red pepper spice Water I can get from anywhere Hold the pot out my window Storm clouds ain’t so distant, Closing by the minute Pasta’s just eggs and flour We have that Get some broccoli, yellow bells And garlic, more than you think we need Butter… Anchovies, trust me
